Description
First discovered in Japan, the name hydrangea comes from the Greek "hydor," meaning water, and "angos," meaning jar or vessel. This roughly translates to "water barrel," referring to the hydrangea's need for plenty of water and its cup-shaped flower.

Gorgeous tones, Marcia Lee. We had hydrangea at our old house and the dopey blooms were green or a sick white. Not pretty at all. Are trying again at the new house and when they brought in the white ones, I just put one hand on my hip and with the other I pointed back to the truck. No. It was blue I asked for and blue I want!! LOL!!! Wish me luck!!!! I hope mine will be half as pretty as these!!! (but blue of course!!)
