Description
I find that I spend a fair amount of time at this location because the beach is a nice size and usually not over crowded during warm weather. It also has beautiful cliffs that over look this beach.
Wallis Sands State Park is a small state park located on the Atlantic Ocean in the town of Rye, New Hampshire. The park offers swimming at a sandy beach with a bathhouse and picnicking. The Isles of Shoals are visible from the beach. The parking lot can accommodate about 500 cars.the facilities.
During the 19th century and early 20th century, Wallis Sands was a Life-Saving Station of the United States Life-Saving Service and subsequently was a station of the United States Coast Guard. The station was discontinued around 1938.
Wallis Sands is a wonderful family beach! It's not too large and is bordered on both sides by a barrier of rocks. It has a waist high concrete wall separating the beach and bath house and lots of nearly pristine sand. A smaller beach, there is ample parking and the bath house has a diverse park store. A large grassy area between the beach and the parking lot is perfect for frisbee, volleyball or wiffleball!
